WiSpry CEO To Be Featured at Microventures 2007

Irvine, Calif., October 22, 2007WiSpry, Inc., the fabless semiconductor company developing low-cost, high-performance radio frequency micro-electro-mechanical systems (RF-MEMS) tunable components and modules for the wireless industry, today announced that Russ Garcia will be featured on a “Making Money on MEMS” panel at MicroVentures 2007 to be held October 25, 2007 in Redwood City, Calif. Mr. Garcia will join other key executives from the MEMS industries to explore how advancements in MEMS technology could bring a big payoff to the startups that develop them. The panelists will address market needs, review the movement of MEMS technologies and devices into high volume consumer markets, and look at where new opportunities might emerge.

MEMS technology brings together the miniaturization of semiconductor electronics with mechanical devices which are able to address high volume applications in a size and for a cost structure which until now was not realizable. Utilizing microscopic moving structures that are millionths of a meter in size and built using silicon chip manufacturing technologies, MEMS devices have found widespread application in airbag sensors, accelerometers, micro-optics, video projection systems, printer heads, microphones, cellular phones, and are now finding application in both enterprise and consumer radio frequency (RF) systems.

The development and proliferation of MEMS devices and technologies into enterprise and consumer products will be a critical advancement for electronics products now and in the future. The flexibility, cost, size and performance offered by the integration of micro-mechanics with micro-electronics will be a critical capability for the electronics industry going forward to truly continue to realize the advancement of Moore’s law, the doubling of functional density every 18 months.
